New York 2016 - Day 6 & 7

This last article sums up the last two days of my trip in New York City :
  • South of Central Park and zoo
  • MOMA : Museum Of Modern Art
  • Brooklyn bridge at night
  • Pianos Club

Every morning starts with a large breakfast to have enough energy for the day.

Belvedere Castle in the center of Central Park.

South of Central Park before heading to the Zoo.

Central park Zoo was a bit disappointing. Bears and Leopards were hidden, probably sleeping somewhere in the shade during the hot hours of the day.

The MOMA (Museum Of Modern Art)  :

A nice and romantic place to see the skyline and Brooklyn Bridge at dusk (take subway 3 and exit at Clark St).

Intersection of Clark St and Columbia Heights

Pianos Club, bar and live music

New York 2016 - Day 5

Today's plan :
  • Wandering from Upper east side to Brooklyn,
  • St Patrick Cathedral,
  • Flatiron Building,
  • Brooklyn Bride,
  • Brooklyn
  • Coney island

St Patrick Cathedral

Today is a really hot day with 90 °F (32°C). I'm looking for the shade and here I can find a good spot on Madison Square Park to admire the Flatiron building before continuing to the South to take the Brooklyn Bride

Madison Square Park

Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge

After Brooklyn Bridge by foot, I'll have the opportunity to take it by car with Franz.

I wish we had  Dunkin' Donuts' franchise in France. This iced coffee with cream was just delicious. We had one on the way to Coney Island.

This is it. Coney island is the place to be today. It was 90°F downtown and it's now 75°F near the ocean. A hot dog at Nathan's and a ride on the famous Cyclone, the only one, built in 1927.

Nathan's Hot Dogs. 100th birthday this year.

New York 2016 - Day 4

For this fourth day the planning is :
  • The American Museum Of Natural History,
  • Rockefeller plaza and the "Top of the rock",
  • Chinatown,
  • Little Italy,
  • Copper & Oak bar
  • A play on Brodway

Amazing is the word I would use to describe the American Museum of Natural  History. I wish I had had more time to spend in this amazing museum. There are so many things to see you can spend an entire day in there. Here just a few pictures :

After this morning, it's time to head to Rockefeller Plaza to get to the top of the Rockefeller building.

On the way, near Rockefeller Plaza.

Rockefeller Plaza

Manhattan with he Empire State Building.

Central Park from the Top of the Rock

It's now a completely different atmosphere. We're walking through Chinatown. Another pace, slower than financial district or time square. A town in the town with its own rules and habits.

Columbus park in Chinatown.

This sign clearly indicates that we're entering Little Italy where we'll have a slice of Pizza.

Now time to have break is a place that only a New Yorker knows about. Thank you Franz for the discovery. Copper & Oak bar. Liquors, Whiskey, rum and flavored spirits in a beautiful decoration. The perfect place to have a drink or two (or three) with friends.

Delicious

To end this day a play on Broadway at the "Circle in the Square" theater.
